Hebrew ikon of Eliyahu ha-Navi


The ikon of holy prophet Elijah, Elías, or Eliyahu, that illustrated the post Hebrew Orthodox Christianity can be downloaded as a PDF file with Hebrew inscriptions in various script styles.

The inscription reads in Hebrew, Eliyahu ha-Tishbi ha-Navi, ‘Elijah the Tishbite, the Prophet’.

Then, the text of 1 Kings 17:4 is written in smaller script under the prophet's name and title, ‘You can drink from the stream, and I have ordered the ravens to bring you food there.’

There are six versions of this ikon with Hebrew inscriptions. Download and print a full-sized ikon by clicking the link beside the detail image. These ikons were adapted from the standard Greek ikon by removing the Greek text and replacing it with the Hebrew.
