The image above is the masthead of an old blog of mine. To call it ‘old’ is as ironic as the saying of Jesus shown on it, ‘Many who are first will be last, and the last first,’ and the blog itself puts a new spin on ‘anarchy.’
The blog was written in 2012 and 2013 and contains twenty ‘toe nails’ (what anywhere else would be called ‘posts’). The very skinny sidebar warns, ‘This is the hard stuff. No pictures, and you have to look up the bible refs yourself.’
True enough, the blog contains no images except the one above. To read the blog sequentially you have to start at the bottom, not at the top. Everything seems to point to inversion, because as Paul and the disciples were accused, ‘These men are turning the world upside down.’
Of course, it's neither Paul nor the disciples (nor I) who are turning anything upside down. We merely show how our mere presence reveals the world as it is, not as it pretends to be. When I let myself live in that world, I too find myself standing on my head.
But to follow the righteous King, even though He hasn’t arrived yet to begin His glorious reign, makes us anarchists as far as this world is concerned. This little blog of mine is a kind of manifesto for those ‘of whom the world is not worthy’ and for ‘the last first.’
The first toe nail leads you by a link to the next. Grab a hammer, and start HERE.
