Letter to Emmanuel

Dear brother Emmanuel,

Thanks for writing me back.
I didn't know that you were a convert from Islam. You do well to be an engineer as well as a witness for Christ, and a minister. Looking at the kind of things that people say on the Naijapals forum, it seems to me that the spiritual climate in Nigeria and West Africa must be very diverse, a kind of clash of cultures, not only between the traditional African mindsets, but also with the many imported points-of-view, all clashing and struggling together, to achieve some kind of dominance.

The way of Christ is, of course, the way of peace, of gentleness, of active love, of patient endurance, especially the last. The world is so full of very lost people, so very lost, in every country, and the lovers and knowers of God are very few. Then, those who sell religion, whether Islam, or Christianity, or Science, or Socialism, or whatever, run after these poor lost souls, in order to trap them in their cages, like wild animals.

But our Lord has made us to be like Noah. He did not have to hunt and trap the animals whom he was to take with him into the ark. No, all he did was call out to them, and they came, two by two, till the ark was filled with the exact number that God had ordered. He is the one who chooses whom and how many will be saved in the ark. So that's what we do, brother, without fanfare, without glorying in our flesh, our words, or our deeds. We simply call out, and those whom the Father has desired to draw to His Son, they hear our voice, and they come running to the door of the ark. How little we have to do! Just be faithful, and cry out the Word, and those who have ears will hear, and they will come.

To you and to the other brethren crying out the Word in the lands of Islam, rejoice, because the time is close, and the night of Islam will soon be over. The Lord of All, the Pantokrator, comes soon. He comes to judge the earth, and the peoples with His Truth. Just keep crying out for Him, as He cries out to you every day. Just keep saying "Here I am, send me!" That's all we have to do, for His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.

Grace and peace,
Romanós
