With the net of the Word
"Come, follow Me", not so much by following Me exteriorly but by loving Me, imitating Me, and I will make you fishers of men, that is, teachers of mankind. In fact, it is with the net of the Word of God that men must be drawn.— St. John Chrysostom

I find this to be one of the many wonderful verses in Scripture. What an invitation, what a calling! I remember when I attended 'wee' Scripture meetings ( when I was about 5)that where either held at the local community center or in the open field area at the housing estate I was brought up when we sang:'I will make you fishers of men, if you follow me'.
Even at that age my heart pounded to get up and be doing the Master's business. Whenever I read stories in Scripture or those in Church history of evangelists or people coming to Christ my heart almost bursts with joy.
It is a verse that we could meditate on half a life time and be continually inspired to follow him, and learn of Him, the one who is gentle and lowly of heart.
But even greater than the ministry to fish for Him, is to follow Him, to be with Him , to become like Him,and for Him to be with us.
Thanks Romanos for sharing these thoughts.
